Defending The Word of God
The greatest book every written is the Word of God, the Scriptures.
God completely controlled the mind and spirit of man as they spoke and wrote down the absolute truth of the Word of God to live by and to find the only way to forgiveness and eternal life.
2 Peter 1:20-21 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, or prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
John 1: 1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1: 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
We must defend the Word of God and our faith in Jesus Christ at all costs.
When we refuse to defend the Word of God, we are really turning our backs on God. We are telling God that our worldly wisdom is greater than His infinite wisdom found in His Word and in God Himself.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
